This week as part of our inquiry learning we explored what effect water would have when we poured it into water trays that contained different types of soil. We observed what happened and used the see, think, wonder strategy and the critiquer and constructor concepts to answer our questions and to explore. This was part of our class inquiry about what landforms are made of and how gorges form. Ms Heal
Famous Flying Flamingos never give up. They continue to strive for success and achieve their goals with remarkable courage, determination and results. They stop at nothing to get the job done. They are reliable, extremely resourceful and have high levels of motivation, creativity and integrity. If you want the job done right then call a flamingo. If you want a helping hand then a flamingo will be at your side to help you. If you want encouragement a flamingo will only be a honk away.

WALT: understand how and why landforms continuously change
Today room 5 embarked on an adventure to the Manawatu river to make some discoveries about landforms. They collected rocks and studied the cliff faces. They had to make observations about what they saw and have brought these back to school to explore and develop wonderings. Please stay tuned for some more action. Posted by room 5

WALT: Using voicethread to record our ideas
Room 5 decided that the flow of happiness that they wanted to create for their class is the Famous Flying Flamingos. I have now invited the children to explore what the concept means for them as individuals and members of the class. Children will use voicethread to record their ideas.
